Understanding Inflation

This class will review the basics of inflation. Even small changes in inflation can have a significant impact on an association’s budget. Not only will the most current data be used, but a description of what these figures mean, how to understand them, and why they are important will be discussed. This course will also cover how inflation can be applied to current cost estimates to get a future costs.

Byron Goetting

This class will be taught by Byron Goetting, owner of GeoReserves and former economist. Mr. Goetting has prepared over 2,000 reserves studies in HOAs all throughout the United States. He has also worked as a financial analyst and an economist. As an economist, he has worked on several high-profile projects, including preparing the economic and fiscal impact projections for the UNLV on-campus football stadium, which later became the Raiders’ football stadium. He has also worked on the economic and job projections for the Tesla gigafactory in Northern Nevada and has written tax analysis reports on both the federal and state level. Mr. Goetting has had several speaking engagements about the economy for the Leadership Foundation programs for the cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.
